Brianna Gardocki is a professional multimedia artist based in Atlanta, GA. A 2019 graduate of the University of Georgia, Brianna launched her career as an independent artist, infusing the world with vivid hues through her work. Her art is characterized by vibrant color palettes, bold lines, and imaginative themes that visually express her unique perspective.

Elaine Stephenson is an artist, designer, and muralist known for creating bright, colorful works with uplifting messages. Inspired by her personal journey with anxiety and depression, Elaine’s art focuses on the beauty of life and encourages positivity. After a decade-long career in graphic design following her studies at the University of Georgia, Elaine transitioned to full-time art, allowing her to explore her creativity more deeply.

Sylvia Smith is an illustrator and product designer based in Woodstock, GA. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design, Sylvia has over a decade of professional experience designing products and illustrations that spark joy. Her work is set to add a playful and uplifting touch to Woodstock’s art scene.

Peterson has always been fascinated with how things work. His passion is fueled by creating works that merge sculpture, engineering, mechanics, geometry, modularity and a love of materials in order to spark interactivity and responsiveness between the object and the viewer. Most recently he has been afforded the chance to explore the field of sustainability and energy efficiency, creating works that give maximum benefit from the least input of energy resources. “I have found that creativity is my voice and making art that interacts, inspires, and delights people is what i wish to offer the world.”

A sculptural abstraction of seeds, pollen, and blooms, ‘POLLEN’ is a vertically reaching sculpture that celebrates the natural beauty and agricultural history of Woodstock, Georgia. Taking inspiration from the exquisite allure and evolution of nature, it brings to mind the joyous wonder we experience as we explore life in its many forms and immerse ourselves in the natural world. One thinks of a gardener seeing their seedling push through the soil, a child blowing on a dandelion, or a family taking a hike to see the springtime flowers.

Roundabout at Main and Mill Streets

Bruce was a heavy equipment operator and welder by trade. Not only known for building three car shredders from Louisville to Georgia, Bruce turned his welding trade into art and became well known as The Junkman Artist. He would turn various pieces of scrap metal into works of art that currently adorn many local restaurants, homes, and even downtown Woodstock. He was most proud of being commissioned by the City of Woodstock to create a sculpture of Woodstock’s local legend “Bob The Turkey” which is displayed right on Main Street.

In 2011, a wild turkey became a local sensation in Woodstock after hanging out near the Serenade neighborhood on Main St. He was unbothered by people and traffic, often walking up to cars and pecking on tires, especially police vehicles. Locals named him Bob or Tom, and his fame grew with media coverage. Sadly, the turkey was hit by a car in January 2012. Residents arranged for his burial near Serenade, and Diane Geeslin raised funds to create a statue in his honor. Artist Bruce Weinzetl built the statue, which was placed in Downtown Woodstock.

AnnaLysa Kimball is an artist whose creative journey has been deeply influenced by her artistic family and a passion for collaboration. From a young age, AnnaLysa was immersed in art, nurturing her talent through studies at Valdosta State University and the University of New Mexico, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts. She continued her academic pursuit at Florida State University, obtaining a Master’s degree in Art Therapy, a field that reflects her commitment to connecting art with the human experience. A central theme throughout AnnaLysa’s work is collaboration. Whether working with communities, students, or families, AnnaLysa has a unique ability to weave collective stories into her art, creating works that engage the viewer and establish meaningful connections. Her mural for the City of Woodstock is a testament to this skill, as she worked closely with various local groups to bring the town’s narrative to life in a visually stunning way. Known for her lightheartedness and uplifting presence, AnnaLysa is a deeply purposeful artist who prioritizes love, support, and listening within her family and community. Her work is a reflection of her belief in the power of art to bring people together and tell compelling stories. AnnaLysa’s contributions have brightened her community and inspired those around her, making her a unique and cherished figure in the artistic world.

The mural, painted by artist AnnaLysa Kimball, was unveiled in the summer of 2018 after two years of work. The creation of the mural also involved significant public input, with the artist gathering community feedback on what elements should be included. The mural is designed to highlight the connection between Woodstock’s past and present, blending historical and contemporary images. For example, a vintage photo of a farm is paired with a modern scene of the Woodstock Farmers Market, while an old-fashioned soda counter with patrons is juxtaposed with a lively rooftop bar. Every figure in the mural is based on a real person, and the historic scenes are inspired by actual historical photographs. The contemporary images were captured by the artist during her planning process. A fun detail: AnnaLysa herself is featured in the mural—she is the woman being dipped upside down while dancing in the park. Additionally, the mural includes whimsical touches, such as ice cream and suckers dropped by children, which appear on the sidewalk in front of the mural, adding to the sense that the artwork is an active, living part of the downtown area.

Deidra is a passionate and hardworking artist with a free-spirited approach to her craft. With a 1971 VW Van as her mobile studio, she can often be found creating art from this unique space at the store, or working out of her Bohemian Hacienda studio at home. Known for dedicating 12 to 16 hours a day to her work, Deidra has completed a wide range of projects, from custom furniture to large-scale murals, especially in high-end residential areas like the Country Club of the South. Deidra and her partner Dave were commissioned to create all the art for the Peace Love & Pizza restaurants, and she has also worked on various pieces for Cans Tacos and Chukkar Farms Polo Fields, including a 5-foot-tall rooster mosaic. One of her most notable works is a massive 12-foot by 5-foot mosaicked guitar at the event green behind BlueFrog, weighing 600 pounds, which she completed in 2016. She has also contributed art to Truck and Tap locations in Woodstock and Alpharetta. Deidra’s motto is to “say YES to everything and then figure out how to do it and do it well,” a philosophy that fuels her dedication and passion for life. With every project, she brings creativity, craftsmanship, and a spirit of adventure to her work.

This beautiful guitar was made by artist Deidra Smith of Blue Frog Imports. This piece of art has become perhaps the most popular selfie spot in Downtown Woodstock since it’s debut.

Jordan Fowler is a sculptor and multimedia artist whose work questions the roles of autonomy and tangibility in response to an artificially augmented world. Taking a variety of forms, Fowler’s work mainly consists of interactive projections and sculptural objects. In addition, Fowler produces large scale public sculptures with varied subject matter and style. Fowler’s current residence and studio is located in north Georgia. He was born in Rock Hill, SC and later moved to the coast to attend the College of Charleston. He received a B.A in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture and B.A in Computing in the Arts from College of Charleston in 2015. In addition, Fowler received an MFA in 2020 from Clemson University. He has exhibited large scale works in both public and commercial settings in addition to small group exhibitions around the Southeast.

Undulation was created from imagined curved forms fitting together to form a twisting flame-like shape. I built the form flowing upwards, using the curved surfaces as the main factor in determining subsequent shapes. My work is a sculptural exploration of abstract form with steel. Mainly composed of geometric and planer elements that revolve and intersect, my sculpture sometimes resembles architecture or figurative poses. I’m heavily influenced by naturally occurring geometry on both micro and macro scales. When exploring form, I like to apply laws that mimic those found in nature in order to provide a framework for interesting direction.The undulating form suggested a flame or wave and inspired me to use a copper green color that naturally manifests in both fire and the ocean.Undulation captures wave-like forms constricted to a thin cylindrical shape. The work is entirely made of seam-welded steel panels with a sea-greenish paint to contrast with the red oxidized edges. Undulation started as a combination of curved pieces of scrap metal from a previous project. With no original model dictating the fabrication of the piece, creating Undulation was an improvisation. It was built from the center outwards; each new component a reaction to balance the form and flow visually.The edges were left bare and exposed to the elements, allowing the oxidation to trail down the painted surfaces. Undulation invites you to move around the piece, feel the coarse edges, and examine the natural oxidation reclaiming the painted surfaces. “I’ve really been interested in things that happen on either a really, really small scale or really, really large scale to where we don’t really see it. I try to imagine what that would look like, because it’s not something we typically ever notice.” He gives a few specific examples, including referencing images of what it looks like when “electrons become charged affecting their orbit around the nucleus of an atom. They jump energy levels, and sometimes they’ll have a wider orbit, and I just imagine what that path would look like. That’s how I had this idea of these revolving arcs with straight lines coming out of them which is always kind of present in my work”. Also, sometimes I just find several interesting things and start welding them together, like the piece at the [North Charleston] Riverfront Park right now is kind of that way. That’s just a huge combination of scrap metal that I have from cutting out other pieces, so that was completely non traditional to the way I usually work.”

The mural, painted by artist Sage Recchia in 2020, was commissioned by Anita and Ken Corsini, the founders of Roc Star Kids, a nonprofit created in honor of their son Rocco. After Rocco’s victory over cancer in 2014, the Corsinis established the organization to support families battling childhood cancer. This mural serves as a tribute to those families and children who have fought or are currently fighting cancer. The meaningful words featured in the piece hold special significance for these children and their loved ones.

Jim Gallucci, a sculptor with over 30 years of experience, creates commissioned works for public, corporate, and residential spaces across the country from his Greensboro studio. A graduate of LeMoyne College (BA, 1973) and Syracuse University (BFA, 1974; MFA, 1976), Jim has exhibited internationally, including at the World Expo 88 in Brisbane, Australia, and the 7th Henry Moore Grand Prize Exhibition in Japan. He participated in the Pier Walk Sculpture Show in Chicago for six years, drawing over 8.2 million visitors. In 2007, Jim received a Diploma of Nomination from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His recent works often explore the symbolism of gates and doorways, which he views as both functional and metaphorical—representing passage, obstruction, confinement, and release.

Jim Gallucci fabricates playful benches that invite community interaction. Many of Jim’s benches have the unique feature of whisper tubes to promote conversation between visitors. This interaction of discovery and communication brings the global experience to everyone. “My benches are publicly placed objects that invite interaction with the passers-by. The benches are playful objects that invite the public to sit and talk with a friend or acquaintance. Though each can function as a “seat,” there is an impracticality of form that lures viewers to explore each bench and try to discover what they are about.” With each project, Jim brings a unique sense of self-expression while captivating the viewer. “Art is the physical manifestation of an idea or event that calls forth an emotional response from the viewer. It speaks to us and evokes a chord deep within us. Good art challenges us, can make us feel righteous, move us, soothe us, heal us and bring us peace.

Dustin Beaulieu is a Woodstock-based artist and illustrator known for his clean, quirky, and timeless designs. Specializing in murals and screen prints, Dustin is always creating. His work is inspired by vintage video games, the joy of play, and the limitless power of imagination. With each piece, he brings a playful yet classic aesthetic that resonates with both nostalgia and innovation.

This mural features the quote by Magda Gerber: “Let the child be the scriptwriter, the director, and the actor in their own play,” celebrating the spirit of creativity and imagination. A playful tribute to Woodstock Arts’ focus on the theatrical, it serves as a vibrant welcome to the city’s nature-themed playground. The minimalist design complements the surrounding natural elements, enhancing the overall atmosphere while inviting exploration and play.

David Sheldon received a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1984, which included a formative year spent painting in Rome, Italy, as part of RISD’s European Honors Program. As a grad student, Sheldon brought sculpture into the mix. His thesis show for his MFA in 1990, at the University of Maryland, incorporated large-scale, mixed-media paintings, as well as sculptural works. Sheldon continues to create cutting-edge sculptural works in metal, as well as provocative public art. Modernist sculpture, with its emphasis on the dynamics of form and space, continues to be a major influence in his work. Sheldon endeavors to create what he calls “”””spatial music””””. “It’s very satisfying to be able to use my vision as an artist in contributing something both beautiful and stimulating to a community in the public realm, as well as enrich any space, both public and private. Having lived in the Western North Carolina mountains for many years now, I draw from the power and majesty of the mountains, the star-filled skies at night, and a sense that one is connected, in some way, to this vast, mysterious Universe we live in.” Sheldon’s landscape painting approach follows the Modernist example of letting ‘paint be paint’, with a strong, expressive, impasto approach inspired by heroes such as Joan Mitchell and Vincent Van Gogh. His paintings express deeply personal experiences in Nature. He paints what he calls ‘ecstatic moments’, focusing on the play between sunlight, color and form in space. “As far as I’m concerned, there’s really no way to depict the sublime reality of Nature with a traditional painting approach, so I don’t even try. But one can still create a painting that is a compelling experience, in its own right, by expressing, through the paint, the artist’s direct experience of Nature (both inner and outer)- and that’s what I try to do”.

The sculpture, “Oralia” (golden) gets it’s name from the golden hues that first appear with the metal patina that results from oxidation on the steel surfaces. Viewed as a multi-dimensional ‘Goddess-figure’, “Oralia” stands between here and there, never fully realized or completed. A figure in flux , echoing the tenets of Quantum reality. David Sheldon’s sculptural works are created with a mixture of old and new technologies. He begins traditionally, either sketching shapes and forms on paper first, or working directly in 3D from the start – cutting out shapes and forms in wood for maquettes. Sheldon will then use advanced, computer software, such as AutoCad to vectorize specific shapes he wants to cut out. Plasma and laser cutters enable the sculptor to realize and fabricate shapes and formulations in a more fluid way then traditional methods. Sometimes, (as with “Oralia” ), the artist works directly with whole sheets of steel in a more improvisational manner. Their construction follows patterns and geometries he doesn’t rationalize beforehand. Sheldon works intuitively and emotively, and yet, at the same time attempts to eliminate any trace of what one would call ‘sentimentality’, and express a more objective state of mind. Art-making allows me to explore the mysteries of the Universe with a more metaphysical approach, allowing room for questions, rather than supplying concrete answers.

Stacie U. Rose is an Atlanta, GA based artist. She earned her BFA from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Stacie explains her work by saying, “In both my paintings and prints, I work responsively by creating relationships of form and color, accumulating layers, deconstructing, and revising until it is resolved. The abstractions recall otherworldly landscapes and architectural references that address our relationship to the environment, objects, materials, and images that surround us.”

The artist adapted her painting to the corrugated metal substrate, and used solid shapes and lines in lieu of her more gestural marks. If you approach the mural from different directions, it appears as though the lines on the mural are wavy from one direction and perfectly straight from a different perspective. The Woodstock Arts Event Green that lies behind it is full of energy and there’s always something going on, which she wanted to mirror in the vibrancy of her color choices. The corrugated surface = groovy lines. The frame area of the mural is a reference to the Woodstock Arts Stage right behind it, with the floating diamond shapes and pink swirls representing the music emanating from the stage. She uses some of her recurring visual vocabulary as mosy clearly seen in the diamond shapes, which are an echo of an installation artwork she created for her solo show at the Reeves House in Spring 2022. The complex and multi-faceted layering that incorporates both erasure and occlusion, constructs an undeniable sense of spatial depth. Sharp lines and geometric patterns create an immersive environment that is deceptively dimensional. “”The abstract image takes architectural and landscape cues from the stage and the lawn. The shapes and palette represent the energy that resides within acts of creativity and the communal enjoyment of performative and visual arts in the open air.

Artists Deidra Smith of Blue Frog Imports and Darryl Reddy upcycled 1 1930s refrigerator that belonged to one of Woodstock’s most well known residents, owner of Dean’s Store, Linton Dean, into a Little Free Pantry. This is a great example of how a piece of public art can be more then just a piece of art. People are welcome to pick up food from the Little Free Pantry with no questions asked. All food in the pantry is donated by local residents. If you would like to donate any food just simply drop your donation off at the Little Free Pantry.
