Brand Ambassador / Tourism Information Assistant

Visit Woodstock GA is seeking part-time Tourism Information Assistants to work at the Woodstock Visitors Center and at certain events around the Woodstock area. Applicants must have availability to work weekend and evening hours on a consistent basis. Successful candidates will need to meet all requirements for employment by the City of Woodstock, Georgia.

This position reports directly to the CEO, but may take direction from any of the management team.

Assists with tourism and marketing related activities of the Woodstock Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), provides support with welcoming visitors and offering related information at the Woodstock Visitors Center, and preserves historical records and artifacts at the Visitors Center.


  • Assists in the promotion of the downtown area and the City with regards to tourism, marketing, historic preservation, community information, and other duties.
  • Supports operation of the Woodstock Visitors Center including visitor relations, tourism and downtown programming, sales of goods, facility maintenance, and cleaning; greets guests; answers questions visitors may have; manages items in store; and takes inventory of store items.
  • Preserves and maintains the historical records and artifacts at the Visitors Center.
  • Assists with informing the general public and tourists of events, attractions, history, and tourism-related businesses in the City of Woodstock.
  • Represents the CVB Tourism Division at local and statewide meetings of other organizations.
  • Provides monthly reporting of work activities as well as notable events that occurred in the City of Woodstock’s Visitors Center and downtown.
  • Helps create, design, and develop marketing materials including such as pamphlets, brochures, maps, calendars, travel guides, business listing catalogs, community information guides, and other forms of information.
  • Assists in job-related social media posts and updates information about events on the website.
  • Attends approved workshops, conferences, and events to promote the City’s CVB operations as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience:

Requires High School diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related work experience in sales, marketing, administration, tourism, or an entrepreneurial setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  An Associate or higher degree in a related field preferred.

Licenses or Certifications:

Requires a valid State of Georgia driver’s license.

Special Requirements:


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:   

  • Knowledge of MS-Office applications word processing, spreadsheet preparation, PowerPoint, and
  • Knowledge of how to operate social media outlets including
  • Skill in organizing and coordinating events and
  • Skill in public interaction and
  • Ability to remain professionally and politically neutral.


The work is sedentary work and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:   feeling, handling, hearing, reaching, talking, and visual acuity.


The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet. Requires working a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a growing organization.
